The relevance is that Max has been told that she caused the storm since very early on- a lot of her comments in her journal (such as when she explicitly compares the whole thing to "City on the Edge of Forever") show she thought this long before Warren knew anything about the time travel stuff.

As for the thing you don't know about- if it's the line in Episode 2 that I mentioned look it up. There are transcripts and videos where Chloe explicitly tells Max at the end of Episode 2 that Max saving Chloe in the bathroom is the cause of the storm due to chaos theory. It's not something Warren suddenly says out of the blue in Episode 5. As for what Chloe thinks can "fix" the storm- she is proven to be right if you go along with her plan.
