Am I the only one excited to see Wilshere at his best with Le Coq beside him?

Eh, i don't know. Right now we're playing well because the entire team defends. Ozil has learnt to start defending, welbeck always puts in a good shift, santi and alexis need no introduction. Same for giroud and co. Can't say much for Theo yet but I hope he gets there. We're doing alright now not ONLY because of Le Coq, but because the entire team has collectively realised "Holy crap, okay time to deploy wengervision + bouldvision combo."

And because of that, Le Coq as our DM works so god damn well. If it was him alone doing the defending in the middle of the park, we'd be no different than we were just a couple of months ago. I feel his addition is a God-send, but it also is as if, we brought him back at the right time too. A little earlier, he might not have been as effective, a little later, his contributions might be less talked about.

So to bring it back to the Wilshere situation. Heck yes, I always love to see a youth product do well. Do I think he'll perform better now that he knows he has better defensive cover? Probably yes. But do I also think Wilshere overplays a lot? Heck yes to that too. But he's the beautiful thing about Arsenal players(after they have integrated. See Alexis early weeks, not on the right tempo with the rest of the squad), they are always very in-tune with the flow of the game. Right passes and the right time, the right runs at the right time. The collective link-up to get their asses out of trouble in a patchy part of the field.

Can Wilshere provide all that back from injury? Maybe not yet. Can be part of the bigger picture eventually? Of course. Even with Ozil and Santi, it took them time to sync up. Wilshere now thats to do that again with everyone on the first team all over again.

I love depth btw. I fucking love squad depth. COYG
