Late night store Clerks, what is the strangest things that's happened on the job?

  • Store I work at locks doors during the night and we serve people through a dropbox at the front of the store. So I'm sweeping the floor or something and this older man, probably 40-50 years old, comes up to the window. He introduces himself as "Elijah" and asks if he could come in and use the phone. As I said, door is locked, so I told him no. I offered some change I had (about 20 cents) in the hopes he had enough to go with it to use the payphone. He did not. I suggested that his best bet was a diner about a half mile down the road that was open, they would let him use their's. He then asked if I knew Jesus. I told him something like, "I like to think I do," and he replied with, "I don't think so. I'm Elijah. The Prophet Elijah. You done messed up now." He then stormed off; but as he got halfway across the lot, he turns and yells out, "I still love you though!" and he started spinning and jumping and went off into the distance. He came back the next day after I left and bought some windshield fluid, proceeded to dump it into his car, and then came back in and threw it in between 2 of my coworkers. He went outside and tried to overturn a trashcan that was actually bolted to the ground, and in the commotion attracted the attention of a town cop that was beside the building. He had to hit him with mace or pepper spray to subdue him, and come to find out he was off of his medications.

-Shortly before I was to go home for the day (after the doors had been opened), I was checking out customers when I see someone jogging up from one of the gas pumps. I didn't really pay any attention as I was waiting on someone else, but as he walked through the door I became dumbfounded. Here, in roughly 20 degree weather, stood a young man in nothing but hiking boots and black boxer briefs. And if that wasn't enough, he asked where the nearest gay bar was. I told him I honestly wouldn't know, and he payed for gas and left.
