The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. We got here because we refused to pay.

Greed and other evils will always be a part of the world and will always seek power and wealth at any cost, and it is each and every person's responsibility to ensure that it is kept to a minimum. We have been complacent for too long. How much suffering are we going to endure (or watch others endure, or ignore others' enduring) before we say enough is enough and use the mechanisms of democracy still available to us to ensure real, lasting, positive, progressive change—before we start building a world we can all be proud of?

The debt is going to be collected one way or another. Whatever the outcome ends up being, we earned it.
