Not sure what this was all about, but this is a good time for the vendor to do some verbal jiu jitsu (deescalation) or bring out a bottle of pepper gel. Going in front of a judge and jury because a seemingly asshat tried to attack you and he got injured or dead getting punched out is not ideal. Shit can hit the fan so fast. IMO a pepper gel is super cool in these kind of situations. Have it on your person and use it when needed. This guy had plenty of time to get out out of his pocket. He could watch his attacker scream his head off without being able to further attack until the cops arrive to the scene. With much less risk for the vendor to get in legal trouble.
