Angry Christian Mom Confronts Katy Perry's Dad

well this is why ordinary people weren't allowed to read the bible for most of history. because it would confuse some of them and get in the way of them understanding god and their religion. thats why there's the noble people that actually understand human nature intuitively and embody its best side, who are made the priests, who are the few that are allowed to read the bible and be trusted to share Christianity with the people. the bible is just the ancient record, of course it would be confusing. its only so scared for being so near to the life of christ and for being the first exposition of some of the principles that shaped and defined Christianity. for an understanding of the philosophy you have to read the philosophy. i know people such as you just see some contradictions in the bible and dismiss the idea that some great philiosphy for human life could've come from it. but the truth is that people did find a philosophy about love and peace and compassion from that book and from the followers of christianity. the early church fathers like saint augustine, ambrose, and jerome, explained what this great philosophy was, and how it was even better than all the greek and roman ideas about human life that had come before it. they did so while being some the best scholars no roman and greek ideas of their time too. these were the people that had influence, unlike the un-read bible, and they tell you a lot more about what Christianity was about in their time than the bible does. also, im sure they never supported any of these teachings that would make you "an absolute savage". that stuff may be in the bible, but it was never what was taught by the people that actually knew the bible.
