Democrats have a long history with sex scandals because people care when a Democrat has a sex scandal.
Trump, alone, makes Weiner look like a positively normal guy. He is a literal rapist. I'm not saying that in a "he alleged raped a girl" conspiracy way or a "his eyes literally raped that girl's body," I'm talking about an account of him and his 2nd wife:

“As she looks in horror at the ripped-out hair scattered all over the bed, he glares at her and asks with menacing casualness: ‘Does it hurt?’” Hurt writes.
That account was the primary reason his divorce from number 2 was granted. His legal defense for the actions?
“It is true,” Cohen added. “You cannot rape your spouse. And there’s very clear case law.”
Fuck that. Trump is an abusive bully that raped his wife as punishment. Of all the cunty things to do, that is close to the very top of the list.
And before someone makes the "but this was against a child, and therefore automatically worse" argument:

Fucking 12. There's a big creep difference between sexting with a 15 year old (that started the sexts deliberately to ruin your political career" and thinking preteens are beautiful.

He's called his other daughter a "piece of ass" and said that "if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her." And who can forget:
“She's actually always been very voluptuous,” Trump responds. “She's tall, she's almost 6 feet tall and she's been, she's an amazing beauty.”
But let's not forget the biggest one of all:
Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.
Bush: Whatever you want.
Trump: Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything
You can be a really shitty person and not face consequences as a Republican. What I listed above is "should never, ever, get out of prison" territory and I was not exhaustive. Pedophilia, incest, and rape.
And it isn't just Trump. Cheat on a wife dying of cancer? Both John Edwards and Newt Gingrich did. Edwards went from presidential candidate to "never work in politics again." Gingrich went from House Speaker, to ... presidential candidate.
Or you can be like Scott DesJarlais, who had 6 affairs along with 2 with patients and staff while serving as a doctor. And for a side serving of hypocrisy, the pro-life doctor forced his wife into abortions and tried to force his patient mistress into one as well. Where is he now? Incumbent representative, Tennessee.
When a Democrat bones an intern, they don't work again. If a Republican bones an intern, there's a good chance they will either get a comfy Fox News gig or keep their seat.
