I think that people automatically discredit Taylor’s music/talent because unfortunately everything that teenage girls like is made fun of/seen as dumb or not of true value. Some people really make it their mission to hate on everything that teenage girls gravitate towards (like various music/shows/music), like how everyone jumped on the hate train for things like Twilight. I’ve heard so many people act as though they are too good for Taylor’s music because “all she does is write breakup songs/she’s dramatic/immature.” Not saying anyone has to like her music, but those comments are so overused and a bit sexist. Taylor’s even said it before in an interview, why do none of the male artists that write a bunch of breakup songs get these same comments? I think people should just let others like what they like and stfu otherwise, why does it matter to them so much? Anyone can listen to Taylor that wants to, she’s a talented artist and unfortunately her talent has been discredited loads of times for dumb reasons. I’m sorry you had to deal with dumb comments about something as simple as listening to a musical artist
