Anyone else feeling guilt over not working?

My company found a super scummy loophole (“we’re essential to the entire chain of automotive products/we have 1 plant that we never do anything for that produces medical products in an already shut down state) to remain open.

Hey, I’m glad to have a paying job. But the majority of people at this job do not have great insurance (thanks to said corporation), and I spent my day making product for carmats. Like, the plastic you put your foot on when it’s not on your brake or gas pedal.

Why am I at work? Making carmats is not essential right now. Even if the company I worked for did make essential products or helped a relative branch make essential products, why am I risking my life to make fucking carmats?

No /s, I’m seriously wondering. Isn’t the whole point to limit exposure? Anyone who can work from home should; anyone who is non-essential should not be there?

What am I doing? If I die making plastic for carmats I don’t even want to be buried. Just throw my ashes into a backseat mat for a 2020 Ford Focus and let someone rub their dirty snow boots on me because that’s what it feels like at this point.
