Anyone need a roommate?

Thanks for the response!

Just to clarify, I wasn't questioning the legitamacy of identifying as a race different to what one was born into, I just wasn't sure what the practical differences would be. For example, I'm white, but my roommate is black. We come from similar backgrounds, and if either of us identified as a different race, I don't see how our lives would change in any substantial way. If we simply chose to live our life a different way, then we could do so, but certain lifestyle choices or ways of life aren't necessarily tied to race. I'm of the understanding that there is a vast amount of variety between different races of people, and that people of the same race can have very different lifestyles, and people of different races can have extremely similar lifestyles.

I guess what I specifically am unsure of, is your opinion on what identifying as a different race prompts you to do, and the difference between living one's life as they choose as their birth race, or living the same way with the race that they identify as.

Sorry for the long comment, I just think that this is a fascinating subject worth talking about.
