Owners of iPhone, iPad, iPod, or Mac products may obtain service and parts from Apple or Apple service providers for 5 years after the product is no longer manufactured—or longer where required by law. Vintage products are those that have not been manufactured for more than 5 and less than 7 years ago. Obsolete products are those that were discontinued more than 7 years ago.
I don’t think that’s for free. Basically, they’re saying that you can bring it in and get it serviced and they’ll have parts available for up to 5 years after it’s off the market, but that doesn’t mean the’ll foot the bill. So, if your card goes poof, so does some of your money.
