Are the same brands of chocolate really so much worse in America than Europe (Cadbury exluded)?

Personally, I couldn't really tell a difference between those chocolates in Europe and US. So I did some research to see whether or not I was crazy. Lindt has a factory in the US, but the ingredients lists of comparable products are the same, and they claim to try to make their chocolate tast the same in all countries. Godiva, some slight differences in products offered, but again, very similar. Toblerone doesn't even have an American factory and all their chocolate sold in America comes from their Swiss factory. Again, exact same ingredients/nutrition facts. So initial research would appear to back my impression that they are similar/the same. I'm curious if anyone besides this guy tastes a difference.
