Australian TV journalist interviews "racist" homeowner who won't sell his home to "Asians". It has the most hilarious ending [1:30]

If I have my own broker from a separate firm, that firm gets the commission.

I'm quite aware. Though you sound like you'd never go that route. Good for you.

And if I represent myself I could price the offer based on the lack of a broker's fee.

You could, sure. You might even get what you want. Never said it wasn't possible, just that you aren't entitled to anything.

What are you even talking about here? Who said I was entitled to anything? I had to explain to you, over and over again, what went down when I was looking for a house....and you couldn't get it, repeating the same BS over and over again. Now you're putting words in my mouth because you have nothing else to say? WTF are you babbling about? Entitled?? YOU COULDNT COMPREHEND THE SIMPLE FACTUAL SO I HAD TO EXPLAIN IT YET AGAIN.

Never said they didn't. However, clueless unrepresented buyers and sellers often can't get out of their own way, and can fuck it up as much if not more. Seen it a bunch of times.

LOL...so says the broker. Self-dealing and incompetent brokers often can't get out of their own way, and can fuck it up as much if not more. Seen it a bunch of times. And? You represent the client...you do not get to determine whether or not they get a broker to rep them, which is what these brokers were trying to do. And the reasoning, that they somehow wanted to make sure "I didn't get in my own way" is fucking laughable. So why did they send over agents from their own firm?

The best part is how they turn into finger-pointing crybabies when they realize that they've fucked themselves over.

So don't be a broker. I'll take a page out of your book: You're not "entitled" to anything, not even smart decent clients (ignoring for the moment that brokers are just as incompetent).

I don't know for sure. I said it was a possibility. If you can't admit that it's a possibility, then you're being as dishonest as you say realtors are.

Oh dear lord. This is why people hate brokers. You really think people are dumb?

If I were dealing with an unrepresented buyer who didn't seem to know what they were doing, I'd ask a colleague to step in and rep them. Partly because it's the most ethical thing to do, partly because it'd lessen my chances of being sued or having a complaint made against me.

Oh I know man....everyone gets sued, right? And all these "complaints" really fuck up a career in real estate! lol. How many more excuses are you going to try and come up with? And "ethical"....LOLOLOLOL. Stop pretending home sales is rocket science....its not.

And, really - if you act the way you're acting here IRL, I can definitely see a seller's agent not wanting to deal with you directly. People who act like you do on Reddit are the first ones to go into ugly meltdowns and blame everyone else when issues crop up.

If you acted like this IRL I'd make damn sure to avoid you like the plague and try to get word to your client what a bullshit artist you were. You can't even absorb basic facts or a simple factual...and now you're lashing out because you got called out on your BS. Everything you've said here is why the general public hates brokers and has no respect for them. You can't even be honest about your own parasitic occupation. Everything is about how incompetent the general public is and how you brokers are these amazing experts with pure motivations. Totally laughable.

People who act like you do on Reddit "are the first ones to go into ugly meltdowns and blame everyone else when issues crop up." Hilarious. This is the brokers default behavior. Seen it dozens of times.

Some brokers do indeed behave that way. Many don't.

I see that you can't even bother to research the bullshit you spew. There have been actual studies. Maybe go read them instead of bullshitting on the internet?

When did sellers stop wanting a quick-as-possible sale too?

Oh yeah, totes bro. The selling point totally isn't the main factor when selling. Everything you type elicits eyerolls.

Do you think all those listings they display (the main driver of their website traffic) just materialize out of thin air? Do you think that there's a team of Zillow associates entering every listing into their website?

I just provided you with where they came from. You're still bullshitting this line? Pretty pathetic. And typical broker behavior. Can't deal with owning up to your own lies.

It's a nice way of telling you to get the fuck over it. Deal. Cope. Adjust. Adapt. Give it a try. It ain't changing any time soon. Promise.

Oh its changing...and thats why you parasites are freaking out. And the general public has zero respect for you and know how useless you are to this exchange. Deal. Cope. Adjust. Adapt. Give it a try. It ain't changing any time soon. Promise.

Zillow's "Premier Agent" program (i.e. selling ad placement and buyer leads to agents) made up over 2/3 of their revenue in Q1 2014.[1] They COULD develop another revenue stream(s), but 68% is a hell of a lot to make up for.

No, you said all of Zillow's info came from agents and it was impossible to get all the info from someplace else. You got caught in a lie and won't admit it. Or more likely, you have no idea what you're talking about. Typical broker.

And the revenue comes from the market itself, i.e. sales...straight out of the pockets of sellers. Agents buy up ad space TO SELL HOMES FOR CLIENTS SO THEY CAN GET THEIR CUT OF THE PIE. Stop pretending agents drive Zillow or the market. Zillow doesn't get theit info from agents, which you lied about, and the revenue generated comes from agents who feel they need to use it to maintain their stranglehold on the business. The money comes from sellers. Also, maybe look up how Facebook and Google generate revenue. Not sure if you've heard of them.

Again with the strawmen.

How is it a strawman when you said this:

If realtors disappeared tomorrow, Zillow would collapse.

lol...you can't even follow your own (piss poor) arguments. Yeah, Zillow totes couldn't generate revenue another way. Other info sharing websites wouldn't pop up they day after tomorrow to fill the vacuum. Not only are you ignorant of the RE market and its machinations but you're also hilariously ignorant of the online market. People have been repeating your line since its advent. "How will they generate revenue??" Its a cliche at this point.

Because - as I said before - it wasn't created for the direct benefit of buyers and sellers. It's by and for agents, and always has been. It's not a fucking public utility.

Dear lord. YOU CAN'T FOLLOW YOUR OWN ARGUMENTS. The point wasn't that people were entitled to the info, the point is THAT EVEN IF YOU WANTED TO PAY FOR IT YOU CAN'T UNLESS YOU'RE LICENSED. And thats to the brokers advantage. Holy sweet jesus. Thankfully data collection sites are ending this stranglehold. Deal. Cope. Adjust. Adapt. Give it a try. It's changing and fast. Promise. lol.

I noticed you completely ignored the whole part about where Zillow gets its info and just bullied ahead with your bullshit. Most people would have some shame when confronted with their lies, but you're a broker. :)

Stop pretending you know what you're talking about. You're a stereotype. Every time somebody calls you people on your bullshit or reminds you that its the clients who drive the market you freak out and start with this, "oh he's difficult...he doesn't know what he's doing." As far as Im concerned the vast majority of you are sad sacks of shit who need to shit on everyone to justify your parasitic existence. And most of you have low intelligence...not surprised since the barriers to entry are so low.
