It's been a good run, millionairemakers, but I'm out and here's why.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.

Seriously, though. Number one... the stipulation was for a dollar. You choose to give more, and now you regret it, because the sub hasn't lived up to your standard? Well, welcome to the real world buddy. You don't always get what you want, level of participation included. It does NOTHING to change the idea behind this sub. It has, however, changed your perception. That's a YOU thing, but a sub thing. There are still plenty of us who believe in the idea, and will continue to support it.

Number two, It isn't donators who were fighting over anything. We aren't forced to donate anything at all. No point in fighting if we do decide to give. It is the other members of this sub. If you want to give more, that's up to you. If you don't want to give at all, that's up to you too. That's why the drawing precedes the donations. I certainly won't be contributing if I find a history of offensive posts. Some people have different standards. If you want to impose your own standards on the entire sub, the cool thing about reddit is that you're personally able to find others of a like mind, and get them to join you, and create your own community. Posts like this, your rage quit, do nothing to contribute to this community, rather they detract from it. If you don't like it, there are methods in place by which you can start your own, if you want to put in the effort. I, personally, appreciate the effort put into it by the mods and would even give your more stringent sub a shot, if you were to attempt it. I can spare a few more bucks a month.

Number three, what's most important to you isn't what's most important to me. Or any other member of this sub necessarily. For me, THE IDEA, is the most important. I'm 35, and in a good enough position in my life to where I don't NEED the money. But, a college kid? Dude, 15 years ago 3 grand could have changed my life. I could have bought a car, our a new skateboard, or any number of things that could change my life. For fuck's sake, I could have just thrown really kickers party. THAT, for me is the idea. Did we reach a million, no. Did we reach 12,000, no. Did we make an impact on some kid's life? Hell yeah we did. And that's cool as shit. How often do you get a chance to have an impact on some college kid's in the UK? I don't very often, but I did last month. The month before it was a random teenager's family. That's cool as shit.

Another great thing about this idea is that your not compelled to participate. More power to you. But, for fuck's sake mate, your rage quit is hurting the idea just as much as people not donating, in my opinion. The idea itself is still really awesome. Some people's response to it sucks.
