I believe Swiss companies are poisoning our food. Recently eating Ghirardelli gave a bad reaction when other chocolates do not. Ghirardelli is Swiss-owned (Lindt), but they attempt to hide this on their packaging.

Most if not all chocolate commercially made and available for purchase in the U.S. has soy lecithin in it.

Soy Lecithin: From Sludge to Profit

Soybean lecithin comes from sludge left after crude soy oil goes through a “degumming” process. It is a waste product containing solvents and pesticides and has a consistency ranging from a gummy fluid to a plastic solid. Before being bleached to a more appealing light yellow, the color of lecithin ranges from a dirty tan to reddish brown.

Chocolate bars with no soy lecithin are not easy to find....but they are out there.

I also recommend buying chocolate with as high an amount of raw cacao as possible. Read all of the other ingredients. If you are not buying organic fair trade chocolate then it's more than likely got some transgenic materials in it and is using slave labor to grow/ harvest/ and process the chocolate.

I am a believer that we are what we eat. And most often, organic wholesome foods will cost more. The less processed the better.

Just my thought, but shopping at Walmart is only perpetuating part of the problem. They have zero interest in selling healthy products, anything organic, or sourcing products that are not made using slave labor. They only want to make money at anyone else's expense.

Maybe try locating a locally owned health food store near you. Start shopping there for foods you eat often. Most employees who work at health food stores are very knowledgable. If you bring up issues like this that you post and come to them with information, they'll be most likely interested.

The HF store near me has probably 20 different organic fair trade chocolate kinds for sale and many without soy lecithin.
