Bernie Sanders posted about Tesla's Powerpack project in Australia

And just how do you expect solar or wind to power 24x7 commercial and heavy industry demand?

A single paper mill requires a power supply that can support a 2MW+ demand several times per day, with 1.0 to 1.2 MW sustained demand between peaks. And that just one plant. A single small industrial city in the US might see demands of 50-75MW. The US as a whole has a demand of 380,697,000 MW.

And that’s just the US.

Please, educate the entire electric industry on how that can be provided with wind and solar. And if you are even considering mentioning massive solar and batteries, please be sure to discuss how you’ll avoid the massive environmental toll caused by the open pit mining for the metals required for such products. And the waste caused by their manufacture, and the waste caused by their current 15-30 year life spans.

And then tell the industry how that’s cleaner than nuclear.

Enlighten us, genius.
