I saw that on the news yesterday. Classic entitlement. This morning I went to our local Safeway to fill a short list. They opened at 6:00 am. I entered the store at 8:00 am. Shelves were mostly completely wiped out like a bomb went off on the majority of aisles. I got 15 items; everything I needed was there. Goes without saying the cleaning aisle was wiped out; no wipes, hand sanitizer, paper products, dinner napkins, tissue. People were mostly quiet and patient. Not much of a wait and no long lines yet. Peet's Coffee across the way was open for pick-up only; chairs and tables were not available. I stood outside to use their wi-fi for a moment. The people inside picking up orders were standing closer to each other than they normally do. Bizarre. My Lyft driver was the same guy for both trips. He had no hand sanitizer or wipes. Lyft had sent an email indicating they would all have hand sanitizer and wipes for safety measures. Didn't matter, I had my own and was wearing gloves. The woman who checked out ahead of me wrote a check to pay for her items. She was wearing face mask and a scarf over her head, but no gloves. She said she was writing a check in order to avoid the credit card device. Yet she used the pen the cashier handed her. I wish everyone a healthy and safe sheltering.
