Stumbled on a business idea by chance: Made a custom air filter that blocks all dust and virus. Business potential?

Your reaction makes sense. I look from your viewpoint, I would have the same reaction. So this is a valid question.

However nothing is being sold now (the product doesn't even exist, except for the prototype and now working on prototype #2, improved). Besides I'm not even attempting to convince you or anyone else here, again it's a normal reaction and I definitely understand.

Due to the lack of patent as of yet I cannot discuss all the technicals involved, however it's just based on standard physics and once patented and fully explained in documentation anyone with basic physics knowledge will understand how it works.

It doesn't focus on viruses, but on small items in air suspension - be it fine droplets or aerosols and viruses will be in one of those forms so this is kind of an additional thing. Anything like that will be captured in the water and then flushed out. There are multiple stages that focus on heavy particles as well as light particles as their mechanics in the air are different. Consequently viruses can't escape as well, and particularly coronavirus is heavy so it is a perfect candidate to be captured. The filter also has self-sterilizing functionality.

It is to be said that it doesn't block gases at this stage (such as chlorine gas for example), expensive cartridges would be needed for that. But particles like dust, smoke, other airsols or floating particles, those will be captured, again by simple mechanics. The first phase is a standard multi-layer HEPA filter, that takes out a lot of the particles and it's common knowledge, so even with that you still have a 50% reduction or more in dust removal. The trick was to remove everything so you get perfectly clean air.

Side note virus is probably just a thing for the moment. The biggest application is dust removal instead, especially in our heavy polluted city. So viruses taken aside, it's still a very useful machine.

I guess it will take time, especially with thorough lab tests and certifications, plus patent, before you can hit the market with this. I have plenty of friends that might benefit from this too, perhaps meantime will provide them with some of these installations. Will see.
