blonde highlights at home

Hey I've been going to my hair dresser for 3 years to get blonde highlights but unfortunately she moved away, so I went to a new hair salon. I got blonde highlights some weeks ago and I'm not really happy with the outcome. You can see my current hair situation in picture 1+2. The highlights are very thin compared to my highlights I've gotten before (picture 2 +3)

I am just wondering if there is any method I can try to achieve these chunkier highlights that doesn't look too stripey. I'm a student and don't have a high budget so I really would love to try highlighting my hair at home. My natural hair color is ash browne. I would love my hair to be like in picture 3+4 again.

If you have any advice, please let me know! What products would you recommend for light blonde highlights? What method would you suggest? I've watched many videos for cap highlighting, hand painted highlights... would love to hear your advice
