I can top this. I didn't even get married. I got a domestic partnership and we kept all/most of our accounts separate. In the end she got the apartment, beach house, full custody, the business, the art, all the cars they could find including my classic which predated our relationship, AND I have to cover her legal expenses as well as current living expenses (20-25 a month). She even got the family pets, only to give them away (That's right, she gave away my dog).

Just to show how nasty of a fight it is, I was recently awards phone calls w/ my daughter (phone calls!) however they added the stipulation they only be made to one phone number. That number turns out to be a bogus. Ergo I get no contact with my kids till the next court date, two months away.

It goes on and on but... nasty and then some. Moreover she's winning every argument based on allegation alone with zero evidence. Example; she says I have guns which I don't. DA conducts multiple search warrants/multiple locations finds nothing (They take a hatchet, a knife, anything in the garden shed). Yet despite this the judge wants to proceed with caution despite there being no evidence. Ergo I get supervised custody which amounts to an hour a month. However due to scheduling conflicts on my wifes side (she's bit of a socialite) I haven't seen her for more than a year. Currently she's saying I have mental problems and I need professional help before they even approach me seeing my daughter (despite glowing recommendation from child services). So they ask for a forensic phycologist. The judge even say's that's not the purpose of forensics and still lets it fly! Which I have to pay for.

I literally can't gain an iota of traction in the courts, meanwhile she's won every argument no matter how outrageous. Everything from me trying to flee the country (so they took my passport) to me trying to blow up buildings (the DA even reached out to the feds because, surprise, I'm brown and she's not). Evidence for all this? Zilch.

TL;DR It could be worse...
