Why Is Booz Allen Renting Us Back Our Own National Parks?

For a piece with so much information, it's odd the facts of the purpose of a reservation system are overlooked. It's almost as though the article is severely biased... Reddit doesn't allow misinformation, right?

If you're going to invite a bunch of people to come to look at your "thing" and require reservations, you're going to have to find a way to inhibit or disincentivize "placeholder" reservations. If not, I'll just put a tent in every open camping spot you have for each weekend that I may be available, which will leave a ton of actual vacancies. One possible solution is to fund a reservation system with tax $$ (terrible idea). The other is to fund a reservation system with fees collected by those who wish to utilize the system. Now tax dollars only need to pay a few people to audit the vendor's performance, while the actual management system is funded by users.

I hated the idea of a permit system here in Oregon. Oregon subreddits were all for it. Don't be hypocrites... enjoy the mess you asked for.
