British celebrity and influencer culture makes me feel so inadequate

I know it is an easy thing to say, but try not to measure the value of your own life by the yardstick of someone else's. All these celebrities/influencers may be attempting to portray a vision of their own life which does not match reality. It is in their own interest to portray their own lives as perfect when the reality might be quite different.

You say you are 23 now and have not got your life together at an age you are supposed to have gotten it together; I'd say 23 is fairly young still. I don't feel like I truly became an adult until I became a parent (at the age of 30) and I did not start to think of myself as a 'man' (instead of a young man) until 40.

Personally, I would just get off social media and decide what it is 'you' want to do. By that I mean, do you want to go travelling? if so, do you want to go for 'you' or do you want to go for the pictures you'll be able to post on your social media feed? if it is the latter then I would suggest that you think of something else to do. Perhaps go and work abroad teaching English? You have a degree and could go teach English in China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, other places ... learn a bit about yourself and what YOU want out of life (not what would look best on your social media feed).

Honestly, best piece of advice I can give is to not waste it wondering what might have been. Work out what it is that you want and then go for it.
