Bulk Billing Newbie?

GP here. I can't answer the virtual wallet question I'm sorry! Hopefully there's a medical receptionist floating around this sub, or someone who's been to a MyClinic clinic before and can tell you if they need the physical card. But I can answer the bulk billing one. Yes, MyClinic clinics bulk bill everyone and there's no co-payment. Medicare, as your insurer, will reimburse you the entire amount, with no out-of-pocket or "gap" payment on top. It is absolutely not weird at all to ring a clinic and confirm their billing policy and double check that they bulk bill everyone and check about exceptions. They will not think you are stupid. Particularly because some bulk billing clinics (and I know MyClinic does this for procedures) will have a small number of scenarios were there will be an out of pocket cost. For example, if you have a mole cut off by your GP, most clinics will charge an additional amount to cover the consumables, the sterilisation of equipment, and so on, because the Medicare rebate amount for skin removal procedures isn't enough to cover costs. HTH. Cheers.
