You acknowledged implicit bias exists, which was OP’s message. Even without it, you’re already explicitly biased when you look at the genres. You can’t say you don’t go in expecting certain characteristics from a shounen or shoujo anime when those aspects were never strictly defined as a necessity for those genres.

Not sure why you think a list of anime made by women should invite feelings of pity, when the dominant feeling in this comment section is surprise at the reveal, or happiness that these artists made it. The rest is mostly neutral discussion about the animes themselves, not gender.

So isn’t that just your personal judgement or are you speaking for all men? How does the way creators “want to be treated” have to do with OP posting the things she cares about and why do you speak for these female creators as if you know them personally? From a business perspective, I don’t think they’d mind the hype for their shows which are CURRENTLY airing.

OP states this was just a fun project for her, because she was shocked to find out what these creators were like, when she had initially thought otherwise. I don’t think this post was meant to be “progressive”, yet the only ones bringing up the topic are men like you preaching gender equality (for some odd reason).
