Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Single-Player Review

Annnd this thread has me feeling insane lol. I suppose I'll share my personal thoughts since I'm in the minority.

I thought the campaign's story was pretty terrible. You commit warcrimes and wonder why you're seen as terrorists by the enemy. An ally commits warcrimes and wonders why they are seen as a terrorist by you. A certain liability of a character insists on being near the action when I didn't feel they even needed to be, and suffers an immediate consequence. There was a really weird "boss fight" with an important character and they just sort of die and aren't talked about again. I honestly wasn't even convinced they died, the whole sequence was just really weird.

I honestly didn't mind the stealth/crafting missions, they were a good shake-up. However, it was pretty jarring to introduce a vital mechanic like crafting so late, and then never use it again after the 1-2 missions it appears in. The convoy chase mission just felt bad to me, even though it was different. The vehicles felt so slow and it dragged on forever. Despite the circumstance, there was just no sense of urgency in the gameplay. Ghost, Price, and Alejandro were a joy though. Their dialogue and chemistry unfortunately make every other character in the story just feel bland and uninteresting. I was pretty excited to get the whole gang together, but then it felt like the game just abruptly ended not long after that. Controlling a certain character for a total of 3 seconds at the end of the game was also a total tease.
