Calling on Ontario van dwellers - who’s your insurance provider? I wrote my broker for a head start as I’m getting close to pulling the trigger on a 91’ Roadtrek class B conversion & this is his response. Haven’t mentioned living in it full-time or anything as I know that can turn off insurers.

ummm a class b rv like a roadtrek is 100% insurable in ontario as an rv and completely covered

however, he has a point somewhat. If you converted the van, then the interior of it (being the conversion) won't be covered by most insurance companies

you can go through the process of the van being registered as an rv however it takes forever and lots of images and proof of it meeting certain criteria. But since its not a manufactured rv, you can technically run into problems with insurance if they choose to, even if you got it registered as an rv.

most insurance companies will look at any reason to not cover something. But they can't shit about a class b rv
