fair but i think the "detriment to these stories" is pretty self-explanatory. i shouldve said so more clearly but these two shows wouldve been 10 times more enjoyable without the pedophilia shit. in mushoku tensei many of these fan service scenes make that fantasy world feel less real and more like someones self-insert wish fulfillment.

stories imo have to make you uncomfortable for the right reasons. for example in a horror story a person can be made uncomfortable by the gore or something, that doesnt mean its bad, its just part of the experience. in made in abyss i got uncomfortable because the author is sexualizing children. its not any character that is doing it, its the author. thats pretty fucking weird and it takes away from the experience
