Dumb mindsets get encouraged instead of getting questioned. You remember that post of a 30 yo woman saying she's feeling like a "2nd class citizen" because a FUCKING VIDEO GAME COMMUNITY dislikes a character they frequently play? Not even ingame (which could hinder their gameplay), no, in the subreddit they can avoid easily (plus, the main sub is actually sucking dicks of Mercy players 24/7). You know, I don't give a shit if nobody had interest in this stuff, but it got upvoted to the sky and many redditors were completely okay with their behaviour and actions, instead of asking a 30 year old if it isn't ridiculous to feel bad about a fucking video game (not even insults towards the person, but the hero they play) in their age.

I never got that mad about a video game community ever.
