As someone who was a huge Bassnectar fan, I’m not cutting him any slack. There are just too many different people who’ve come forward with accusations. He’s clearly wronged multiple people.

I will say however it’s hard for people/fans to have closure, especially without any actual legal action. It makes it difficult for people to know what to believe as there just isn’t enough clarity about anything.

This is the main reason I’m against cancel culture. Just because some artists and people deserve to be canceled doesn’t justify cancel culture. There’s just too much room for false accusations. It’s quite likely most if not all of these artists deserved what they got, but what if they didn’t?

A lot of people’s lives have been completely destroyed from cancel culture. I’m not willing to do that without being certain beyond reasonable doubt that they deserved it. That doesn’t mean I’ll continue to support them though either.
