Champions league 2019 final referee Damir Skomina accuses UEFA & FIFA of double standards: What about USA and Israel?

I do believe that Israel should be sanctioned by FIFA purely for issues in the conflict that relate to football; there's evidence of Israel systematically harming Palestinian football (Palestinian players getting kneecapped by the IDF, exit visas being denied to international players, etc.). I don't believe that Israel or the US should be sanctioned by FIFA in an attempt to make them moral equivalents to Russia - the actions that Skomina is referring to are not anything that I will defend, but they are not in the same ballpark as Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Israel's actions in Palestine and the US's actions in Iraq are as indefensible as they are fucking nasty. They are not the same as a soverign democratic country suffering a full scale invasion purely to fulfill the territorial ambitions of a neo-fascist dictator.

None of these three things can be justified, but the invasion of Ukraine is unlike anything we've seen since the Second World War. It is absolutely a step above, and deserves special treatment.
