I’ll preface this by saying I’m going to call my doctors, but would like other’s thoughts as well.

We’re on our first IUI cycle and I triggered last night at 8:30. They had to triple book me in the am tomorrow because my husband works and we’ll collect his semen at home at 7am with my appointment scheduled for 8:15. The receptionist kept saying the appointment needed to be within an hour (and this way obviously isn’t), but this seemed the best we could do. After talking to my husband last night he said he could probably go into work early and leave for a bit to give his semen at the clinic.

My question is, would you opt for him to go in at a later time to be able to have the IUI done with fresher sperm and not being triple booked with the potential to wait even longer after sperm collection? The down side of this is because of when I triggered my appointment would likely be 38-40hrs after trigger if we wait as opposed to 36hrs.

I have seen studies that suggest 24-36hrs and others saying 36-40hrs, so I’m not sure it would matter too much, but would like other’s opinions. I know odds with IUI are still not great, but I don’t want to compromise it more.
