Chicago is absolutely gorgeous

A woman gets stabbed and dies while waiting for the red line downtown.

A 7-eleven down the street from me got held up at gun point today.

5 gunshots occurred a mile away from me last night.

A guy tried to hijack a bus with a knife today.

Shall I go on? This has all occurred in the past 1.5 weeks, very close to where I live and frequent. This is ongoing and routine at this point.

The city is certainly gorgeous where you selectively choose (nice choice taking Metra btw), but it shows its ugly side most all the other time.

People will tell you otherwise but Chicago is a great city to visit and enjoy for a week or two, it is another bear to live in and experience.
