As as person looking at the US from an outside perspective, why would you vote for Trump?

Unfortunately, the other side is even more unreliable because they can’t be honest even with themselves. It’s sports and tribalism- no truth, no empathy, no history, no compromise, just win at ALL costs. You won’t get a straight answer from those subs on any subject.

Want to talk about echo chambers? The conservative sub will literally ban you if you aren’t a conservative. It’s literally in the sub rules on the front page. Actually, they will even if you are a conservative, just if you say anything even mildly critical of the party- BANNED

CASE IN POINT- Woodward tapes come out. Trump is on voice RECORDING months before the real closures admitting he knew full well the huge seriousness of the virus, that masks work, that contact tracing is important, that it’s airborne, and that he’ll lie and downplay it to keep people from panicking (things he spent the next 6 months denying and spreading division on, leading us to where we are today). They hear this audio, ban every thread, and every top comment on it isn’t saying “yes, I support him lying to us bc I trust him” it was “he never downplayed it! Fauci banned masks. Trump banned flights from China. He never downplayed it.”

The guy is on tape saying, “I downplayed it”- verbatim. They got lied to and couldn’t accept it until they could spin a nice new convoluted whataboutism talking-point and order was restored.

So yeah, when you say “ask them directly”. No, at this point what you hear will be pure bullshit. They aren’t playing to spread truth or policy, they are playing to win.
