Citizens of sg that have kids, or are planning to have kids at some point, how do you think your upbringing of your kids is going to differ from the way you were brought up by your own parents??

honestly I think caning and hitting kids work but maybe when i actually do have children i won't be able to bring myself to hit them.

I will not post their lives all over social media. i dont want to even use it around them because honestly I have a big fear my child will be on tiktok or whatever. I'll just use a camera and take nice pictures for the family to look back on haha

I will focus on values. depending on my childs personality and school environment, the grades will come naturally. I didn't do sports or music so I'm not sure if I'll put my child in such enrichment classes yet

I'll get my kid to buy their own clothes and toys they want with their allowance so they learn to be good with their money as early as possible so they don't enter their teens spending money once they get it.

it's very similar to how my own parents brought me up. the only difference is that they focused on grades and i really just want my child to be a genuinely nice person. anything else he achieves will be a +1.
