So while Canada doesn’t need to go out of its way to pick a fight with China at the moment, it’s also reasonable to expect our political leaders to avoid parroting the official Chinese line.

It’s not a reasonable expectation at this point, because there is no point. The virus is already here and these expectations sailed two months ago when it was racist/xenophobic to close the border.

For the most part the actions and measures were on par with what China/WHO were telling them. All this virus has told me is that we’re undoubtedly controlled by another country.

It’s going to be very hard to deleverage and keep their sensitivities in order. They chose that over the people in the first place, I don’t see how that’s going to change with this leadership.
