[Conflict] Romania Moves Into Ukraine

[S] As a Gowind-class corvette silently carved its way through the jet-black water, two teams of katadromeis prepared their equipment under the waning moonlight. Beneath them, two rigid-hull inflatable boats sat bobbing in the ocean as the seamen of the FCS Gazimağusa assiduously lowered four large watertight crates into them.

Finally satisfied with his men's preparation and the sailors' work, the OYK officer-in-charge ordered the decent of his men into the loaded boats below, and once the teams were settled, set off for the shore.

On the coast of Mykolayivs'ka, a car waited atop a rocky outcropping. Five men dressed in paramilitary fatigues leaned against it in silence, as another stood on the edge of the cliff, looking out on the sea while puffing on a cigarette. By the faint moonlight, he made out with squinted eyes the vague figures of the katadromeis as they expertly pulled ashore, and unloaded their cargo. Within seconds after, the Cypriots had once more receded into the foggy night.

Once the masked boatmen had withdrawn, the leader turned to his men, and waved them into action as he trudged back to the car. He produced a crowbar, and re-assumed his position gazing over the men's work.

As the first pair reached the top of the hill, he softly instructed them to leave the crate at his feet. After taking one last drag on his cigarette and stamping it out, he pried the top off the container and plucked a Zastava M70 from within, its markings ground off.

His men couldn't see the grin that broke through his weathered face as he cradled the rifle. He chuckled quietly, and gazed on the soft glow of the moon-lit metal. "These will do well in libertarian hands," he finally decided, and carefully placed the gun back in its place.

[m] Kind of a rushed post, but basically the classic-liberal government of Cyprus is supporting the Ukrainian libertarians on a small-scale, and this was a narrative of one of the deliveries. This wasn't spontaneous, /u/KapellmeisterKraut allowed Cypriot funding of the rebels in another comment.
