I've made the switch I think about two months ago, and there's a significant difference. For me the best way to describe it is that I was finally able to play how I want; more aggressive, quicker and less hesitations because you can be sure most of the time that the wall you placed or edit you made actually went through.

This is on top of the way lower response time if you get a high refresh rate monitor. I have gotten more 10+ kill games in the last 6 weeks than in my almost year of playtime on console. I still go back once a week to console because my friends play on it and I feel so limited and slow when I do. It really makes a lot of difference.
