Cost of living in 1959

My theory is demand went up when a lot of people started working from home. Plus a lot of people were able to stop paying rent for over a year. I know one couple that stopped paying rent to save up for down-payment on a house and their reasoning was "don't give a shit if we get evicted, were home owners now". Not sure how that's going to work out for them.

Its getting better now where I live though. A ton of people came in late to the game trying to flip houses and are sitting on shit boxes that they threw a coat of paint on and that ugly gray vinyl wood flooring that boomers and gen x seem to love. A ton of these houses they've been cutting 5-10k off the price every week and no ones buying. It's hilarious.
