I'm old. My spirit has long been broken by watching very wealthy people take the things I created and live in obscene luxury while I struggled, first shackled by a decade of student loan debt, then shackled by another decade of medical debt when the long hours had damaged by body and health insurance executives denied coverage for a surgery AFTER I had it. I gained some clarity from observation and experience again and again, that greed drives this world. I watched a co-worker die in poverty after his "partners" took all the millions from a sell out for themselves, and broke their promise to him. I realized, those with power and wealth... have power and wealth over those that do not. They have mobility, freedom, choice, and opportunity after opportunity. They can chant of passions and pursue them, and if they stumble, they always have a cushion to catch them, and try again and again. Most working class people get one shot, if that, and one failed venture or even a layoff can be a quick descent back to poverty... because we never left it. We own nothing, control little, and we're mostly paid just enough to survive, not build wealth or rise up. And, about every 7 to 10 years, our government does a little heist and devalues our wages, but also lifetimes of savings, then crashes the markets to wipe down whatever we might have saved. This is my third time through. This time, they devalued our purchasing power by 30% over 3 years, then wiped down our 401Ks, pensions, and IRAs by another 30 to 40% on those devalued dollars. Like I said, I'm old. I got that gut check long ago, picked myself up, and was kicked down again, and again. I think this is my last time around. I'm tired of the game.

My hope is that YOUR generation, and my children's generation will say "fuck this" and make some changes for the better, to level the playing field, and grab a fairer share of all the wealth we all create. Society doesn't need multi-millionaire representatives of the people, and we sure as fuck don't need to create and carry multibillionaires birthing trillionaire heirs for our children to serve.
