COVID question for folks who have cruised during delta

I hate to say that as an Alaskan. But basically despite Southeast Alaska ports having quite high resident vaccine rates, almost all are in high alert status for COVID spread. You can see the impact on Anchorage Daily News, Alaska Public Media, or the state DHSS dashboard.. There is a sufficient minority of local anti-mask types plus an insane amount of raise and independent travel happening this year during a pandemic. Giant pitri dish and I can't wait for cruise season to be over for the year.

For this reason, I mask absolutely everywhere indoors I go, avoid people I know to be against medical advice, avoid businesses that allowed unmasked entry, and do not eat restaurant food except carry out and delivery. I mean what else can I do when the region's hospitals are small and limited in capability and transfers to ICUs in Anchorage or Seattle aren't going to happen since they're full?

Also, flying to or from a cruise port puts you into contact with tons of others.

I believe Alaska, because we are running out of ICU beds with triage protocol in place, has advised all residents to make essential trips only. Several of my friends have had within-state work trips cancelled this month, so the whole continued tourism during a pandemic bit is baffling.

Guess I'm just saying rely on health data over marketing that things are safer now.
