Creator of Dilbert on why Trump's campaign has been successful

I posted this somewhere else, I'll repost it here too. I'll probably catch hell for it, like I do any time I rain on this parade.

Tl;dr kids celebrating Bernie Sanders on the Internet are absolutely no match for the hypnotizing capitalist Trump machine

It’s pretty obvious Donald Trump owns the Republican party, he’s going to get the nomination without any doubt. How fucking awful would that be? But then, could he possibly be any different than Obama anyway? I believe we could always be more fucked then we are now, which is at this point ‘irreversibly.’ The real question is whether or not Trump will excellerate or just casually perpetuate the sweeping atrocity that has become this country. I mean, I hardly imagine anyone beating Clinton for her nomination, she’s going to play the same game as the Trump. Abusing the ridiculous powers of persuasion and the wealth influence of corrupt capitalism, that’s the only way to win. Obama’s nomination was no fluke, he wasn’t an “Internet candidate” by any means. It was made to seem that way, sure, but that’s just it. The numbers were run, and the statistics said that the Democrats needed a wild-card to rally up complacent voter-bases. The magic 8-ball said “pick a black guy.” The fact that a “joke candidate” like Donald fucking Trump has essentially stolen the GOP nomination goes to show how absolutely broken and deceitful the voting and election system is.

If Trump can take the nomination by force, Clinton isn’t going to bat an eye for trying. She’s the next wild-card, she’s the only one with a recognizable brand who also has corporate influence. She’s the one who will be shown on liberal media and is the only viable contestant for the Democrats. AND she’s a woman, so the liberals can pat themselves on the back for pretending to be making radical changes. Bernie Sanders sounds like a shady oasis, but he’s irrelevant. He’s not a real option because people aren’t swayed by convincing arguments and facts. Three years of trying to convince people to go vegan has taught that to me. They prefer the easily digestible smooth-talker who gives them validation and hope in the short term. Instant gratification, immediate pleasure. Being a drug addict has taught me that. It’s an instinct, and in the political field, the biased way that it is set up, people don’t use their rationale to make decisions. They want a smooth talker who sticks in their head the way the news people feed them subsidized ideologies. Comfort, power, wealth, loud and exciting. I think it’s great that people are taking some of what Bernie Sanders says to heart, but he’ll never win and if he does he can’t possibly make a difference. Not at least until radical education has broadened it’s reach, and people start to refuse to listen to the lies and bullshit spewed in the debates and news outlets.

That’s why I think it’s important to encourage people to outright refuse the game. The best you can do talking about Bernie is to convince a sparse few of the voting demographic (face it, only old fucks vote in quantity) to perhaps take your side, encouraging them to tune into the mindless events to with only your opinions in mind. Then, should he fail as he likely will, chances are you won’t be around next time to stop that person from making the wrong choice, as they’ve already been trained by the game to keep playing.

You need to change people. Nothing will ever be fixed the way it needs to be by changing politicians. The president couldn’t even dream of having the power Donald Trump commands, unless he were Donald Trump. Which it will be, most likely. The only reason he didn’t win last time was because he didn’t run. You think he’s a joke but he is a legitimate threat and actually wrote a book on how to pursued people and he’s one of the richest people in the world. He proves single-handedly the extent that the issues have gone to, because public perception of him for the last 15 years would never have allowed him to get these kinds of numbers if he wasn’t absolutely intent on buying them out. And it’s true for both parties, so forget about Bernie Sanders. You’re using the idea of him and some sweeping change he could never possibly bring to procrastinate current change and personal education. If anything, he’ll be elected and the lies will be sewn to allow the oppressive right and capitalist media to swear off socialist or far-left politics for another 8-16 years.

Elections are never the solution. They’re kept in place to keep you feeling like you’re making a difference. Your choice is being preprogrammed. The best candidate for the people will never be elected. There is more power in wealth and influence than you’re allowing yourself to acknowledge.
