Cursed Child PSA from a filmmaker

You know what? No, no I won't listen to this condescending "PSA". And in what world is you talking down to us about what we already know a public service?

How ignorant do you think the average HP fan is that we "lack the understanding" that a theatrical script is meant to be performed live, and that the director and the actors are as large a part of the play as the script? We are acutely aware that we are only getting part of the experience.

But here's the thing: that's the only way most of us "fans" are ever going to be able to experience it. I don't live in London, nor can I afford to travel thousands of miles to see a play. Maybe one day if I'm lucky I'll be able to see an amateur production of it, and then on that day I'll deserve to be referred to as a fan without quotation marks.

Harry Potter is a mass media IP that has been seen and loved by millions, and reading the Cursed Child is the only way we're ever going to experience it, except for the tiniest fraction lucky enough to see it live. Please keep this context in mind when reading this or other posts.
