Dads of Destiny: A mancave with issues [Discussion]

Anyone can make a clan on Bungie.net and call it whatever they want.

Bravo Bandits was not a recognized Dads of Destiny clan. When they decided they wanted to be a recognized or "official" Dads of Destiny clan, they applied.

Quote "In another post concerning their new guidelines, they specify that a founding principle of the Dads of Destiny required that a Dad must be the head of every clan, and active in the community. They also state that they did not ask any clans to change their leadership or remove any members."

Quit trying to act naive, we all know the Dads in Dads of Destiny means Dad/Male. If you want to get technical look up dad in the dictionary, it shows father: a male parent. Its truly concerning that this even has to be said.

Quote "We don't want to be sexist at all, but we do like the "Mancave" vibe of our group. We’ll definitely look at forming an alliance with a Mothers of Destiny group out there."

Dads of Destiny has used the Mancave wording since they were founded.

When Bravo bandits were informed of the Clan guidelines required to become a recognized Dads of Destiny clan, they obviously did not like them.

Dads of Destiny presented solutions to keep Bravo Bandits intact and part of Dads of Destiny, which also did not require the female leader to step down.

Before any solution could be made, Bravo Bandits cut all communications with Dads of Destiny admin, publicly announced on their clan page that they were no longer affiliated with Dads of Destiny, and within a hour were using threats and shady tactics to try and get their way. It was their decision to cut all ties with Dads of Destiny. At that point it was obvious that Bravo Bandits had no true desire to be apart of Dads of Destiny and other motives were in play.

In the same time frame, Bravo Bandits already had a new clan, website, twitter etc. online. Coincidence?

The female leader is quoted saying " Just make us official already, and let us do our own thing". There are several concerns with that request. They want to claim rights to the Dads of Destiny resources and branding, but they want to be under their own terms.

This is a direct quote from the Dads of Destiny website in regards to this discussion

"While certain elements seem bent on waging a campaign of accusation bordering on slander the Dads of Destiny have addressed the matter with parties involved and others seeking information to the point of posting an article here. We mention no names and aim the article at addressing the crux of the issue the Clan Connection re-organization which with such swift growth was inevitable.

That brings us to now with this article requesting a comment, only the comment they are asking for isn't valid as the Dads of Destiny have not banned anyone from anything. The question of banning someone from a gaming community due to gender is appalling and at no point would the Dads of Destiny condone such behavior.

We recognize that there may have been misunderstandings as we formalized the clan guidelines, but the Dads of Destiny stand by our original principles to be a group that help gaming Dads connect with one another. As Dads we are focused on family, and have always provided services for groups whom are not Dads and share the same “mature gamer” mentality."

No injustice has been done, Bravo Bandits made their own clan with their own terms, free to run it any way they see fit. Any continued negative propaganda aimed at Dads of Destiny is an obvious shady tactic to try and gain member base.
