DAE not trust anything that is sponsored or paid?

Absolutely, and adverts are getting SO clever.

I watched a new drama on TV, it was a true story about a mother whose son was killed at an overcrowded sporting event. Incredibly emotional and gut-wrenching seeing her lose all control as she identified that the body was in fact her son.

Cut to add break.

And the purposely placed FIRST advert is for the Apple Watch. An audio recording of the watch phoning the emergency services because the owner has fallen off their mountain bike and was unconscious... blah blah apple watch saves lives.

I was watching with my mum at the time, who was heavily identified with that woman, and now me, who mountain bikes on my own and she worries about falling off. 5 seconds later, "Maybe you should get one of those?".

Fucking exquisite but damn scummy advertising strategy. Never seen an advert do this before, playing off the emotion and drama caused by a TV show to sell a watch. Felt dirty after seeing it. Like a violation of some kind.
