Unpopular opinion: The Millionaire Next Door isn't that good.

It's been ages since I read it, but I mostly remember hearing interviews about it on NPR, and it was incredibly enlightening that an Average Joe like me could actually attain wealth and retire early.

I still view that book as a kind of superhero novel where the dude next door has a kind of secret power that 99% of the middle class population miss out on due to ignorance.

but I think it's just extremely dated in its writing and it's not that interesting.

Lots of things become so obvious after you have learned the lesson. I still remember how hard it was to learn Here Comes the Sun, on guitar when I was a newb. That memory itself is one of the reasons I still love that tune ....
