Dancetronauts are banned from Burning Man this year

Also, I have always respected burners.me for providing an often controversial but always useful viewpoint, but they make it clear in their article on this issue that they care more about being anti-authoritarian than about reporting accurately.

For seven years, Dancetronauts have been bringing their show to the Playa. Not just DJs – a whole uniformed crew, lights, and beautiful dancers the Dancetrohotties. To help raise the funds required to put their show on every night for a week, they have also been taking the Strip Ship and Bass Station to other festivals: including EDC, Coachella, and even NASCAR.

I have looked everywhere and I cannot find anything supporting the idea that they do this just to fund their Burning Man contribution. That may be due to lack of appropriate Googling on my part and I would love to be corrected, but this sounds like a hugely biased way of justifying the fact that Dancetronauts is a commercial venture, complete with a wide variety of branded clothing available for sale online to supplement their albums.

Sounds good, right? Promoting Burner culture to a wider audience is the entire purpose of Burning Man, now that it’s a non-profit – isn’t it?

What exactly have they done to promote Burner culture to a wider audience? Did their DJs hold impromptu lectures on radical self-reliance at NASCAR? Did they play pre-recorded PSAs on civic responsibility at EDC?

They're a rave bus. They play good music with good speakers. That's fun and all, but blasting EDM is not Burning Man culture.

After this, the article goes on to list the details of what happened, but rather than providing any kind of primary source, it lists its own heavily biased version that completely omits key issues and then claims things like, "Dancetronauts acknowledges that these things happened, and have taken full responsibility for these screw ups, and they’re very sorry."

Is this burners.me writer the fucking PR representative for Dancetronauts?

After reading this article, I have lost faith in the integrity of burners.me as a news source. I never expected to always agree with what they wrote, but I never expected them to so wildly distort a story.
