I stayed at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT for about a month and a half. I went there because they have an exceptional DBT program which is great for bipolar. I (well, my parents) chose it because my dad’s former colleague who now works at Cornell Med school said it was the best. As far as my referral goes, I think my parents or doctor just called their admissions team and figured out when they would have space available. It really made a huge difference in my life and I am incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to go to such an amazing place for my healing. I was also psychotic while I was there and they got me on the right meds to bring me back down to earth rather quickly. I was originally supposed to go to some other place and my doctor from the psych ward hooked me up with the referral. Idk the name of that place since I ended up going to Silver Hill instead.
