Daredevil - Season 2 Premiere Discussion Thread [SPOILERS]

I have to say once again Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) steals the show. And that's hard to admit because I LOVE PUNISHER, he is without a doubt my favorite comic book character of all time and they have never really gotten the character right on screen; until now. John was amazing as Punisher; I think he could tone it down a little bit with the growling though, at times it was bordering on Batman Christian Bale growling which I think we can all agree is a little bit ridiculous. I think the “Prison fight” really showcased what the Punisher is all about, and for the first time they portrayed a realistic fighter in a comic book movie/television series. He’s not some ridiculous Hollywood Kung Fu fighter, which anyone who follows professional fighting can tell you is bullshit and will get you killed in a real fight. The Punisher fights like a real person would fight if they were fighting for their lives, he gouges eyes, wrestles, boxes, uses any weapon and advantage he can get in order to KILL and not “knock out” his enemies; he fights like a Marine would fight. But despite my love for the Punisher, the Kingpin is definitely the most well-acted and compelling character in the show, he steals ever single scene he is in and I found myself missing him by the end of the season. I just really couldn’t care less about the hand and their evil boss random Asian guy that they carried over from the last season, he should have stayed dead. Overall it was an improvement over the last season. The Daredevil and Elektra are passable characters but if I’m being honest the only reason I’m going to watch the show going into the upcoming seasons is for the Punisher and Kingpin. And don’t even get me started on Foggy and blonde female love interest…please, please get murdered.
