Just a thought here, but if you don't want to touch the cards with your hand, it might be a good idea to wrap some silk around them before picking them up.

Silk is a known psychic insulator and is recommended for wrapping ritual tools in to protect them from negative influences in the environment, and to hold any charge in talismans etc.

I keep my cards and stuff wrapped in silk, just in case.

I doubt if you're in any trouble as such, as you seem to be involved in a positive spiritual activity, so your aura should be strong enough to ward off any entities that could be harmful.

That doesn't mean that they won't still be lurking around though and despite our best intentions to help others toward a more positive state, I feel that we all find our own level in life and afterwards for karmic reasons or whatever, but that's just my own theory as far as I'm aware and it's still in the development stage at the moment:)

Personally, to be on the safe side, I would be inclined to cleanse the cards before disposing of them so any attached entities couldn't jump ship, as it were, and attach themselves to you in some way.

As I said at the beginning, these are just things I would consider, as I don't think of myself as an expert though I have had a good few experiences in these matters.
