I didn't pay a cent. Middle finger to Disney.

Every case is going to be different, but <2GB for a feature-length film is pretty much always going to be horrendously bit-starved. This might be a fine compromise for those watching on a phone (insert David Lynch iPhone clip here), or those with bandwidth caps. But on a modern television of even modest size, the picture is just going to look poor compared to the source. Particularly with any dark scenes or motion. At the risk of sounding like a film snob, I’d say even anything below like 5GB for a 90+ min 1080p h.264 video is often going to show significant degradation when compared to the source. If bandwidth and size isn’t an issue, just search for a “remux” release, which is essentially an exact copy of the source material. Alternatively, search for “x265” releases (assuming you’re playing on modern hardware that supports it), which is generally a more efficient encoding method than h264, particularly for 4k content. There’s a few decent groups releasing acceptable x265 releases nowadays (Tigole is a popular one) and offer a nice balance between size and quality. Just don’t fall into the same trap of tiny releases, because even x265 ain’t going to save a video file that’s only 1.4 GB.
